Friday Favorites #1: June 2015

Yay! It's Friday and I'm done with finals!! Talk about feeling great :D I've decided that in addition to having Fit Fridays, the last Friday of every month I will also do Friday Favorites. My friend Heather at Life in Leggings does this every week and I really liked the idea and also the chance to link-up with other bloggers to see their Friday Favorite posts as well. So here we are.

  • The Stitcher radio app and podcasts in general

One of the best things that has happened to me lately is podcasts. I drive a lot so its nice to listen to something other than music, especially when you think you've heard just about every song on the radio.

This app is seriously so awesome. It lets you save your favorite podcasts, downloads most recent episodes for you for offline listening and even recommends podcasts you might be interested in. Even better, my car's radio has this app as well and whenever I have my phone plugged in I can easily navigate through the app on my car radio.

  • Caveman Coffee and MCT Oil

So I gave up coffee for 21 days at the end of April and when I decided to start drinking coffee again I didn't want to drink just any coffee. Sure I have those days where I grab Starbucks or a coffee from a local convenience store but most of the time I'm drinking Caveman Coffee from Onnit. Best. Coffee. Ever.

When I bought my coffee I also bought MCT oil. The company had a package deal with both products so I figured "Why not?!" And come to find out the MCT oil has AWESOME benefits. It gives you great sustained energy, regulates blood sugar, improves metabolism and improves appetite regulation. Seriously, whoa. To learn more about MCT oil go here.

You can buy both of these products from Onnit.

  • Naturebox

Seriously, I love this stuff. Can't wait for my next box which should be shipping soon. If you want to read more, check out my review of my first month of Naturebox here.

  • Stress Away Oil Blend

As I mentioned above, this week I had finals. It was one of the most stressful weeks of my life to say the least. I took full advantage of my Stress Away oil Thursday to calm me down and keep me focused.

  • Moving Boxes from Sagebrush

In Wednesday's post I mentioned that I am moving back to the thumb. I really hate moving, there's no good way to put that. But, luckily I saved a ton of money when I took all the boxes from stock at the restaurant I work at! Score!

And with that I'm off to the restaurant to start my last weekend of work!

Hope everyone has an awesome weekend!

Healthy Snacking: Naturebox

Hello all! Hope your week is going well so far. In my FitFriday #2: Snacktime Made Healthy post, I mentioned getting my trial of Naturebox and letting you all know how it was when I got my first full size box. So, here it is! natureboxlogo

First, let my explain what Naturebox is. This is a service that delivers snacks right to your door, and they're healthy snacks! You can choose how many snacks and how often you want them sent but the norm is 5 snacks sent once a month. You can choose to have more or less snacks delivered more or less frequently. There are tons of options for whatever your diet requires like vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free, soy-free, nut-free and non-GMO options. All the snacks they sell are also nutritionist approved and don't contain high fructose corn syrup, trans fat or a bunch of artificial stuff. And as healthy as this all is, it's also absolutely delicious. You can find all the information I just mentioned and more here.

So let me share my first full Naturebox with you.

Because I had never tasted any of these snacks before I kind of just picked stuff that sounded good and this is what I ended up with.

1. Jalepeno Cashews

I'm a big fan of spicy foods, and cashews for that matter. Plus this just sounds like an interesting combination. These cashews definitely have a bit of a kick to them but they are so so delicious!

2. Chocolate Chia Granola

This stuff is pretty much awesome. I ate it as a cereal with almond milk one morning and it was pretty much like I was eating a chocolate cereal, like Cocoa Krispies or Cocoa Puffs, but healthy...and with all the goodness of chia seeds. Can't beat that.

3. Flax Fortune Coins

One of my favorite foods on this earth is fortune cookies and not just for the fortune inside. I used to buy these things by the box just because I loved the taste. So, when I saw these and the fact that they're made with flax seed I couldn't resist and had to put them in my Naturebox pantry (thats where you save snacks that you want to be sent to you). They were well worth it too. They smell a little different, but that has no effect on the taste and I'll definitely be ordering them again.

4. Pistachio Power Clusters

The Pistachio Power Clusters are an awesome energizing snack. I took these with me to class one day, a day that just so happened to involve Olympic lifts and plyometric training. I ate some before to make it through the morning and then after to refuel. Too good to stop eating, and because of that, they're already gone!

5. Toffee Almond Granola

This is a snack that I also used as a breakfast cereal or just to munch on throughout the day. The sweet flavors with the almonds is fantastic and it did wonders in calming my sweet tooth.

My next box should be coming in about three weeks and here's what I'm looking forward to:

  1. Blueberry Almonds
  2. Big Island Pineapple
  3. Peanut Butter Nom Noms
  4. Sriracha Pop Pops
  5. Chocolate Banana Chips

If this is something you're interested in I highly recommend to try the free trial or use the code share10off to receive $10 off your first box. You can do all of this on the Naturebox website or they have an app for your phone! Just search for Naturebox in your app store.

That's all I have for you today, I'm headed to school. Hope you all have a great Wednesday!
